Come aboard and prepare yerselves for a hilarious high seas adventure unlike anything ye ever have seen before, with a splash a' pirate history and magic upon each every page!

Captain James Roberts is seeking the Magic Treasures; enchanted items once belonged to his legendary grandfather, and he'll let nothing slow him down - not even his dysfunctional crew a' misfits and outcasts, or his un-shipshape ship The Bottle.

The only problem is, he's not the only one in on this Caribbean treasure hunt of grand proportions. His bloodthirsty former captain - Castor Indigo - be just as determined to claim these magnificent spoils and he'll not think twice about sending a bullet James' way, nay, not he!

As the wager unravels, though, they both may find themselves sailing some deadly waters... with a deadly foe......

It's a tale for anyone from the cabin boy to the seasoned buccaneer. Ye'll find yerselves now laughing, now clinging to the edge of yer seats as the jollier crew braves the jungles of 18th century Costa Rica, the haunted ship graveyard of Cayman Brac, swashbuckling battles with privateers upon stormy tides, encounters with rats, close calls with a beautiful-yet-noisome wench, and so much more that ye do better to read the tale than make me tell it all here!

The Pirate Tales and Adventures of Jollier Roger and the Golden Cross Book 1 of the Jollier Roger series eBook Steven Vincent

Pirate Captain Roberts sets out on an adventure to find the long lost treasure of his grandfather.

I have to start out by saying that this book is just plain fun to read. Anyone and everyone who loves pirates and has a sense of humor will enjoy this story very much. There is plenty of pirate lingo, and everywhere you've wanted to sail is included. There is also a lot of magic and paranormal (ghosts, etc), so if you're into fantasy pirates, this book is for you. Obviously if you enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean you will enjoy this book.

I enjoyed how the author chose to portray the downtime throughout the story. Obviously when you travel everywhere by sea it's going to take time. Instead of boring us with the details of the workings of the ship, he delights us with jokes, many at the expense of Ruffles. It worked well, and segued nicely into the action scenes on land.

Captain Roberts is an intriguing main character. He has a set of rules for his crew to follow, and he's highly superstitious. He's a fun captain, one I'd enjoy sailing along with. I also loved his snake, Hawser. He was a fun and unexpected addition to the crew.

Woven in between the comedy is a nicely written, swashbuckling adventure to find a magical treasure. Racing against his rival Captain Indigo, Roberts is determined to get his hands on the treasure first. He's willing to go to enormous lengths to accomplish his goals.

With an original and imaginative storyline, and plenty of lighthearted pirate humor, this is a fun read to pass an afternoon. If you're looking for a few laughs, this is the book for you.

Well written.
if u are a pirate u need this in your library
There's a lot of running around and arm waving and some cute bits, but overall, I had trouble staying awake while reading it. The fight scenes need to be tweaked some. Perhaps by showing them from one viewpoint only, rather than omniscient??? My biggest complaint is that the characters are thin and I just couldn't care about any of them; not even the main character.

It might work for some, but not for me. The ending has a strong lead in to a sequel, but doesn't leave the reader with a "cliff-hanger".
Full of adventure, humor, time for relaxation and time for action. Natural style and memorable narrating skills.
This book was so much fun! The characters were very alive, funny, driven, and intense in their dynamics. The scenery was surreal, not only because the author describes it so well, but because the settings at times are so creative they take your mind to new relms. With fantasy writing, there are no bounds, and endless twists of imagination in this book kept me turning the pages. Plus, I laughed a bunch, and I love laughing. In fact, I think this is the funniest book I have ever read. A great mix of pirate adventure and mind blowing fantasy. Definetly a great read.
